LATEST NEWS (5/17/02):
After three months of being off-line, our Web site has returned! The bankruptcy of @home put our site in limbo for a while, but we're on a new server now (with lots more space), and we hope to make several new upgrades to our site as well.
As I'm sure our readers are aware, it's been quite some time since the last issue of MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT shipped (#13). I'd like to thank our readers for their patience and understanding regarding the delay. I'm happy to report that MFTV #14 is nearing completion and should be off to the printer soon. Speaking of printers, we're using a new one this time around. And, along with a new printer comes new opportunities, which have led us to alter our design somewhat---nothing drastic---but for the better. I think our readers will be quite happy with the results.
With the relaunching of our Web site, we hope to enhance our presence on the World Wide Web. Soon we'll feature exclusive articles that will only be available on-line. We hope to step up coverage of new DVD releases, books, and other items related to the genre. Also, look for on-line contests for great prizes, on-line polling with results, and much more. In the future, we even hope to have on-line order capabilities for back issues, subscriptions, and merchandise. So look for great things in the future at www.monstersfromthevault.com.
We hope the wait for next MFTV won't be as long as this time around. Some great articles are on the way, including a sneak peak at Steve Kronenberg's and Tom Weaver's UNIVERSAL HORRORS II. This volume will continue where the first one left off and will cover Universal's output in the 1950s.
You can expect the book sometime in 2003/2004 from McFarland and Company, but we'll preview it in our next issue.
Finally, you can look for me at the Monster Bash Convention in Butler, Pennsylvania, at the end of June. I won't have a table there this year (This is my vacation, and I don't want to be stuck behind a table all weekend!), but our presence will be felt, as our newest issue of MFTV (#14), and SHOCK! THEATER: An Illustrated History, will be on sale in various locations in the dealers' room throughout the weekend. So pick up your copy of the new issue, or a copy of our enthusiastically received SHOCK! THEATER, and say 'hi' when you see me walking around or at an event. Monster Bash and FANEX are truly the conventions not to miss this year. I'm already counting the days!
Well, enough for this installment of news. Look for another update in the near future, and keep checking our Web site for the latest on "The Best in Classic Horror!"---MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT.
